Short Biography
Jago is an award-winning composer, producer and educator based in London.
Jago’s recent work explores themes of ecology and environmentalism. Jago’s musical style draws on shimmering instrumental colour and celtic-inspired melodies and to create fresh, yet approachable music.
Jago writes concert music, film music and produces electronic/pop music. Jago has been commissioned by groups including Gaudeamus Screendive, JAM on the Marsh, the Sacconi Quartet, Doelen Kwartet, Huygens-Fokker Foundation and Britten Sinfonia.
Jago’s music has been played internationally and broadcast on on BBC 4 and Radio 3. Jago has written music for several award-winning short films, as well as for international theatre shows. Jago produces pop and electronic music for several artists and is currently working on a debut electronic EP.
Jago currently teaches Composition and Music Technology at Westminster School and at KCS Wimbledon. Jago was previously Composer-in-Residence at Eton College. Jago studied music at Cambridge University and composition at Codarts Rotterdam.
In his spare time, Jago is a long-distance runner and performance artist. He enjoys conducting and singing in choirs.

July 2024: Murmurations for String Orchestra Premiered at JAM on the Marsh by London Mozart Players and Nicholas Cleobury.
July 2024: Participant in New Voices Academy at Three Choirs Festival with Carice Singers, Daniel Kidane.
July 2024: Participant in JAM on the Marsh composers’ course. Premiere of new opera Wittgenstein.
